Tour Description

Head to the hills! Visit the Famous Market!

Leave early for a 2 hour drive to Panama’s famous valley located in the crater of an extinct volcano, El Valle de Anton, home to the legendary Golden Frog.

It is the second largest inhabited volcano crater in the world, surrounded by mountains and cloud forest creating its own microclimate. El Valle is a must see on your trip to Panama.

2 Short walks bring you to pre-colombian indigenous petroglyphs (images created by carving part of a rock surface) and waterfalls. The Golden Frog exhibit recently moved and is not always open due to covid. We will visit a butterfly garden and, of course, Panama's most famous artisan market! Around 2pm, after lunch (not included*), we depart from El Valle to avoid traffic getting back into the city.

*A zip-line adventure option is possible in El Valle as well (additional cost of $65 pp)

*Additional side trip to the beach or Laguna de San Carlos available on private tours

*More fit or adventurous travelers can enjoy a hike on the famous India Dormida trail (Wednesdays or by contacting us) and enjoy breathtaking views of the valley from above
3,000ft.

*Like most of our tours, we make a stop for lunch at local restaurants where travelers can buy their own lunch.
