Panama City, Beach & Jungle

First, we want to start you off with something in and around this dynamic city to get you orientated. We will drive through the old U.S. canal zone en route to Miraflores Locks on the Panama Canal. At Miraflores, you will have time to watch the locks in action, visit the museum and see the film, all included in the tour price. Then, we take you up to the best view point of the city, the artisan market and out along the Amador Causeway for lunch (not included) and for a lesson in U.S. military history and Panamanian nature. Finally, we return to Casco Viejo for a short walking tour around this historic part of the city, ending at your hotel.

Tour Time ~ 8 hours (~8:00am – 4:00pm)

The next tour on our list takes us into the middle of the country to the area around Gamboa in Soberania National Park. We will get an early start and head towards Lake Gatun where we will board a small boat to go exploring the lake and looking for wildlife. Once we work up a bit of an appetite we will head to the Gamboa Resort where we can freshen up and have a bite to eat for lunch (not included). Enjoy the views of the Chagres River from the balcony! After lunch, it’s off to the Wounaan Indian village to check out a medicine trail, learn about their history and culture, enjoy a few dances and have a chance to check out/purchase some artisan crafts. *good walking shoes/no flip flops, sun/rain gear

Tour Time ~ 7  hours (~8:00am – 3:00pm)

Time for some adventure! We depart around 7:30 am and arrive around 9 am to get our snorkeling gear sorted out and head out across the Bay of Portobelo to our 1st site. Enjoy your time snorkeling this beautiful reef and take some time to dry out on the beach before we go to the 2nd site along a reef wall. We return to shore for lunch (* not included) and take a historic look around the famous port, Portobelo! Then we head off to the canopy/zip line part of the tour. Hold onto yer hats as you fly through the jungle on 5 different cables.

* No flip flops for the canopy tour, sun screen a must for the snorkeling trip.

Tour Time ~10 hours (~7:30 am – 5:30 pm)

Substitute the Caribbean Adventure for the Partial Transit

Experience the Panama Canal with a transit through the locks. Board a small cruise ship in the morning and pass under the Bridge of the America’s on the way to Miraflores Locks. Here you will be raised from sea level up to Lake Miraflores and after a short cruise through the lake, you will enter the Pedro Miguel Locks to be raised the final time for a total of 85 feet (27 meters). Pass through the Culebra Cut, the narrow part of the canal before you reach Gamboa to disembark the ship and board transport back to the city.
